Daramus serricornis, a widely distributed representative of the East-African entomofauna extending in the north of its area of occurence to the Arabian Peninsula, has been described from Obock environs (Djibouti) by Léon Marc H. Fairmaire in 1892 [❖]. Larval development in Vachellia, the biology is probably similar to those of Daramus (Daramus) major major (Pic, 1924). Adults, active from April to August (depends on region), are crepuscular/nocturnal and can be attracted by light [✮].

Host plant:	Vachellia (= Acacia) spp.
Distribution:	Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Africa (Niger, Senegal, Chad, Djibouti, Sudan, Ethiopa, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania)

Depicted mounted beetles were collected 7 km SE of Addayer (N17°20′17.8″ E43°10′30.9″; 615 m a.s.l., Jazan province, Saudi Arabia) on April 29-30, 2023.
